Support
Something not adding up? Email adam@afterglowstudio.com.au and you'll hear back from the person who makes the app. Please don't send balances or other figures unless they're needed: a description of what happened is usually enough.
Your data
Where is my plan kept?
On your iPhone. There's no Tidy Sum account or server, so we can't see, restore or recover your plan. It's included in your normal iPhone backup (iCloud Backup or a backup to your computer).
Moving to a new iPhone
Restore your new iPhone from a backup of the old one and your plan comes with it.
How do I delete everything?
In the app, tap your avatar, then Delete everything. If you share a plan, this stops sharing first, so you need to be online. Deleting the app also removes everything stored on that phone.
Sharing with a partner
What does my partner see?
Only bills and savings goals you mark as ours, what each of you has put away on them, each person's name, colour and pay schedule, and take-home pay only while the split is worked out by income. Your debts and anything marked mine stay on your phone.
How do I stop sharing?
Tap your avatar, then Partner, then Leave the shared plan. Shared items become yours in full. You need to be online for this.
Plus and purchases
Is Plus a subscription?
No. Plus is a one-off purchase, so there's nothing to cancel and nothing renews. It includes every 1.x update and is shared with your Family Sharing group.
How do I get a refund?
Apple handles payments and refunds, so request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something is wrong with Plus, email us too and we'll help. This doesn't affect your rights under consumer law.
I bought Plus but the app doesn't show it
Open the Plus screen and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought it with. Family Sharing members get Plus through the person who bought it.
The numbers
Is this financial advice?
No. Tidy Sum does the maths on what you enter and shows rough projections. If debt feels like too much, the National Debt Helpline (1800 007 007) offers free, confidential financial counselling, and Moneysmart has free guides.
Why is my date different from my lender's?
Lenders work out interest daily and may add fees or change rates. The monthly balance check lets you enter your real balance so the plan catches up.
